its hard to be what you can’t see

I was afraid of being the only Black woman at my first gravel event. This concern was the catalyst for my fear and anxiety. I threw caution to the wind and lined up anyway.

I was the only Black woman on the course that day, however, another Black woman saw me on social media and decided to race the next day.

I’m aiming to motivate BIPOC athletes, who are curious about gravel but don’t see people who look like them, try gravel cycling anyway.

I’m working to be the change that I want to see while having fun and meeting new riders along the way.
